The Colby College women's tennis team (3-3) defeated Bates College (3-3) Wednesday afternoon, 5-2. The number one and two singles matches were not contested after the White Mules had clinched the team victory.

In doubles tennis, the number two tandem of Sabina Warren (04, Dover, Ma) and Emily Walker (04, Memphis, Tn) won 8-5. The White Mules' number three doubles team also played well. Lindsay Tarasuk (03, Middletown, Ct) and Caren Harris (03, Fairview Village, Pa) recorded an 8-5 victory.

Colby dominated Bates 3-1 in the singles competition. Number four singles player Jennifer Grace (03, Darien, Ct) won in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4. Sabina Warren, playing in the number five singles, won 6-4, 6-0. Colby's number six singles game was played by Emily Walker. Walker defeated Bates' Caroline Renyl 6-3, 6-1.

Colby returns to action on Tuesday, October 10, when they host the University of Southern Maine at 3:30pm.
