Colby Woman's Volleyball at Colby

SEASON PREVIEW Volleyball Volleyball Volleyball Volleyball Volleyball

The outlook for the 2000 season is extremely bright. We will be returning four starters from last years 16-14 team. The graduation of our four year starting setter, Missy Fiebelkorn, and our middle hitter, Jen Johnson, will be huge holes to immeditately fill. The team will look to top-notched all around play from key returners, such as: Amanda Cuiffo, Reagan Carey and Laura Reese. Known for its scrappy defense, Colby will look to the quickness and agility of its great defensive players: Jessica Weisbein, Melanie Newton, and Laurel Burnham. Returning sophomore, Brooke McNally, and first years, Abbey Stella (Westfield, MA) and Alyssa Henley (Spokane, WA), will vie for a starting middle position. Colby will be looking to speed up their offensive attack with these young players running the offense. Sophomore, Laurel Burnham, and incoming first year, Kimberly Prescott (Buena Park, CA) are contenders for the setter position. This team will have a great mixture of experienced and youthful talent to really be competitive with our NESCAC rivals and other top notched schools in New England. And, for the first time in the history of the Colby Volleyball program, we will be HOME for Homecoming and Parents' Weekend on October 6th-7th against some very competitive teams, like Bates, Middlebury, Hamilton, Bowdoin and Williams. It is an exciting opportunity for our players to finally have fan support and look to gain more respect within the NESCAC.
