Candice Parent has been involved with the Colby volleyball program since the fall of 1993 and begins her 10th season as head coach in 2005. Her program was honored in 2002 when Parent was named NESCAC Coach of the Year after leading the Mules to a 23-10 record. Parent has helped the Mules to three straight 20-plus win seasons from 2002 to 2004.

In 1997 and 2001 her colleagues selected her as the Maine State Coach of the Year. In December 1999 Parent was selected as the female recipient of the Rick Pierce Award, a regional award based on sportsmanship, competitiveness, and volunteerism given out annually by the Yankee Volleyball Association. Parent continues to play volleyball at the highest-level tournaments in New England through the USA Volleyball Association and each year she participates in the USA Volleyball Nationals at various sites across the country.

Parent and her husband, Mark, are the parents of three children -- Emily, Matthew and Daniel. Mark Parent also serves as an assistant coach for the Colby volleyball team.
