WATERVILLE, Maine --- The Colby College men bring a full team to the NCAA Skiing Championships starting Wednesday and Cassady Roberts (Steamboat Springs, Colo.) heads to the meet for the women at Middlebury College's Snow Bowl.

Colby men's captains Marc Massie (Wayzata, Minn.) and Jim Ryan (Mendon, Vt.) will team up with Craig Marshall (Carrabassett Valley, Maine) to form the full three-man team. Roberts is a co-captain for the Colby women.

Competition begins Wednesday with the women's giant slalom at 8:30 a.m., with the men to begin at 1 p.m. The women's slalom opening run begins Friday's schedule at 9 a.m. The meet is Webcast at

Massie, a senior, returns to the NCAA meet for his second time after making the event in his sophomore season. He led the Colby men this year with eight finishes in the top 15, including a sixth in the giant slalom at the Eastern Championships at Sunday River. Massie skied well at Snow Bowl during the Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association (EISA) carnival season, taking seventh in the giant slalom and 10th in the slalom.

Ryan, a junior, is back at the NCAA meet for the third time in three years. He has had two top-20 finishes at nationals, taking 16th in the slalom two years ago and 19th in the giant slalom last year.  Ryan had his best finish of the 2013 season at the Eastern meet, with an eighth in the giant slalom. Ryan also placed ninth in the giant slalom at the Colby Carnival at Sugarloaf.

Marshall had the best finish of any Colby alpine skier this season, taking fourth in the slalom at the season-opening University of Vermont event at Stowe. Bad luck hit Marshall soon after that when he missed four weeks of skiing because of an illness. Marshall, in the national meet for the first time in his sophomore season,  finished 19th in the slalom at the Middlebury Carnival.

Roberts, a senior, returns to the NCAA meet for the second year in a row after taking 26th in the slalom and 29th in the giant slalom last year. She had six top-20 performances in 2013 and came on strong at the end of the season. She was 11th in the slalom and 12th in the giant slalom at the Eastern Championships. Roberts also was sixth in the slalom at Dartmouth and 16th in the slalom at Middlebury.
