WESTFORD, Mass. ---- Colby College women's soccer player Emily Brook (Duxbury, Mass.), field hockey player Sally Klose (McLean, Va.), and Nordic skier Molly Susla (Freeport, Maine) will all participate in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Women's Coaching Symposium this Saturday and Sunday at the Westford Regency Inn and Conference Center in Westford, Mass.
The 2012 edition of the symposium will feature presentations from head coaches and senior women administrators who are passionate and experienced in the coaching field. Janet J. Judge will be a keynote presenter and will speak to the attendees on the subject of Title IX and Gender Equity. Judge is listed in the Best Lawyers in America in the area of Sports Law and speaks often on college campuses and at NCAA conference events.
Klose is a senior and was a starter this past year for the Colby field hockey team, Brook started in goal for the women's soccer team in her first year, and Susla was the lone captain of the women's Nordic ski team as a junior.
Each attendee will be assisted by a campus mentor who will help the student-athlete in their development as a coach and in the job search following graduation should they decide to enter the field of coaching.
Colby has been represented well at the six previous conferences. Injoo (Han) King '04 is an assistant athletic director and head field hockey coach at Montclair Kimberly Academy, Mallory Young '05 is the assistant women's ice hockey coach at Colby and the interim head golf coach, Elizabeth Ghilardi '06 is head women's lacrosse coach at Skidmore College, and Su-Lin Del Guercio '11 is an assistant women's soccer coach at Colby.
