WATERVILLE, Maine --- The Colby College football team wrapped up the 2012 season and honored their seniors with its annual awards banquet on Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Pugh Center.

The 2013 captains were announced at the event, with Daniel Maddox and Paul Gallagher selected by their teammates to lead them through the off-season and on the field next year.
The recipient of thePaulGinger Fraser Awardwas Pat Harper for exemplifying unselfishness, loyalty, and all the aspects of being a team player.
Daniel Maddox and Paul Gallagher were both voted by their peers for theHerbert Wadsworth Awardas the most improved players. Their hard work and commitment is unquestionable in the fact they were selected for this award and as captains of the 2013 squad.
Ryan Veillette was the winner of theJorgen BocklageAward for overcoming physical adversity and persevering on the field. Veillette after suffering an ACL injury missed only the first game of the season and still lead the league in sacks with 7.5.
John Gilboy earned theTom Austin Award.John was selected because he best embodies what it means to be a Colby Mule on and off the field, has grown with the program, and leaves it better than he found it.

Ryan Veillette, D3football.com All-East third team at defensive end
Ryan Veillette All-NESCAC 1stteam DE – this was his third year on the all-conference team
John Gilboy All-NESCAC 2ndteam OL – 2ndyear on the all-conference team
Derrick Beasley All-NESCAC 2ndteam DB – 2ndyear on the all-conference team
Jason Buco All-NESCAC 2ndteam DB – first time all-conference selection
Post season academic honors:
Tom Abare, Luke Duncklee, Phil Amato, Paul Gallagher, Cody Anderson, John Gilboy, Ben Brauer, Caleb Harris, Conor Clancy and Danny Maddox were all named to theNESCAC All Academic Teamfor their commitment to excellence in the classroom while also competing at a high level of athletics. Gilboy was also Capital One All-District and eligible for All American.
We are sad to see many great seniors leave us this year as we are every year, but the future of Blue Team Pride is alive and thriving in our first years, sophomores, and juniors.
