Field hockey falls in league road game

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. --- Colby College goaltender Michelle Burt kept her team in the game in the first half, but Emily Jablonski took over in the second half for Williams College with two goals and an assist in a 3-0 New England Small College Athletic Conference field hockey win Saturday.
 
Burt made seven of her eight saves in the first half as the teams battled to a scoreless tie.
 
Meera Sivalingam scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal at 41:14 off assists from Jablonski and Cary Hairfield. Jablonski added two more scores to help the Ephs (7-6 overall, 4-5 NESCAC) pull away.
 
Colby drops to 4-9 overall and 1-8 in the conference heading into Wednesday's season finale at home against Bates College at 4 p.m. The Mules were officially eliminated from league playoff contention with Saturday's loss.
