WATERVILLE, Maine --- Annie Hansbury, a two-time All-American at University of Massachusetts at Lowell, was named Monday as an assistant coach for the Colby College field hockey team.
Hansbury, who earned second team Division II All-American honors in 2010 and 2011, will work under Colby second-year head coach Tina Cormier. Ashlyn Hudson also returns to the field hockey coaching staff for her second year.
Hansbury, the lone captain of the 2011 UMass-Lowell team, played in the midfield and had 17 assists over the past two years. She had that total despite missing a good deal of the 2011 season with an injury. Hansbury earned Northeast-10 All-Conference First Team honors after her senior year and made the second team as a junior.
Hansbury had team success during her time at UMass-Lowell, which went unbeaten at 24-0 and won the NCAA Division II title during her junior season.
Hansbury has been an administrative assistant and an assistant coach for Northeast Elite Field Hockey. She also has been a head coach and assistant coach for Elite Field Hockey Camps (Waltham, Mass.) and was a under-14 head coach for Phantoms Field Hockey Club (Hampstead, N.H.).
