WATERVILLE, Maine --- Colby College punter Connor Sullivan (Hamilton, Mass.), who averaged nearly 50 yards per punt and also completed a pass at quarterback, was honored Sunday as the New England Small College Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week.

WATERVILLE, Maine --- Richard Newton (Arlington, Mass.) had two interceptions and returned one for a 64-yard touchdown as Colby College scored 29 unanswered points in the second half to take a 35-7 win over Hamilton College in NESCAC football Saturday at Seaverns Field at Harold Alfond Stadium.

AMHERST, Mass. --- The Colby College football team led 3-0 after the first quarter and were moving the ball against unbeaten Amherst College, but the Lord Jeffs used a key special teams play and a fumble recovery for a touchdown in the second quarter to spark their team in a 30-3 win over the Mules in NESCAC play Saturday at Pratt Field.

WATERVILLE, Maine --- Rushing beat passing this time as the Wesleyan University football team received a big day from Shea Dwyer (Marlborough, Conn.) to offset a fine outing by Mule quarterback Nick Kmetz (Laurel, Del.) and a record-tying day by Connor Walsh (Westwood, Mass.) in the Cardinals' 27-20 win Saturday at Seaverns Field at Harold Alfond Stadium.

WATERVILLE, Maine --- After losing 45-0 at Middlebury College last year, the Colby College football team reversed fortunes with five touchdowns and a field goal in a 38-27 victory over the Panthers in NESCAC football Saturday at Seaverns Field at Harold Alfond Stadium.

HARTFORD, Conn. --- Colby College's Tom Duffy finished with 12 tackles from his middle linebacker spot and Nick Kmetz threw for 223 yards, but Trinity College had fine balance with the rush and pass in taking a 33-6 win over the Mules in the New England Small College Athletic Conference opener for both football teams Saturday at Jessee/Miller Field.
