Martin 11th for Colby golfers at NESCAC Qualifier

AMHERST, Mass. --- Colby College's Taggie Martin finished in a tie for 11th place and the Mules took seventh place overall at the New England Small College Athletic Conference Golf Qualifier on Sunday.
Colby went into Sunday's second round tied for fifth place with Amherst, but ended up with a score of 645 to finish five shots behind sixth place Bowdoin College. The Mules beat Tufts University, Bates College, and Wesleyan University.
Martin had the best round of the weekend for Colby with a closing 75 for a two-day total of 153. Pete Gabranski tied for 24th place with a second straight day of shooting 80 (160 total). Tripp Huber was 36th with a 164, Craig Marshall addd a 169 for a tie for 43rd, and Steve Carroll was 47th with an 82 after finishing eight strokes better than his Saturday round.
