RUMFORD, Maine --- The Colby College Nordic ski teams are the best in Maine for a fourth straight year after winning the Chummy Broomhall Cup at Black Mountain on Sunday.

AUGUSTA, Maine --- Jake Barton had the best finish of his Colby College career by placing seventh in the men's 10-kilometer classic as the men's team placed sixth overall out of 12 teams at the Colby Ski Carnival on Friday at the Bond Brook Recreation Area.

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. --- Olga Golovkina started the season off with a top-10 finish by placing ninth for the Colby College women's Nordic ski team and Jake Barton was the top finisher for the men at the opening meet of the season at the St. Lawrence Ski Carnival on Friday at Mount Van Hovenberg.

RUMFORD, Maine --- John Dixon (Shelburne, Vt.) had the highest finish ever for a Colby College men's Nordic skier and Olga Golovkina (Newton, Mass.) did the same for the women at the U.S. Cross Country Championships on Sunday.

WATERVILLE, Maine --- Nick Kline (Cape Elizabeth Maine), one of the top Nordic men's skiers at Colby College in the past 10 years, will be an assistant coach for the Mules in the 2011 season under his former head coach.
