SAN DIEGO, Calif. --- Colby College's John Gilboy started the men's outdoor track and field season off with a fine showing, taking second in the shot put and third in the hammer throw at the Point Loma Invitational on Saturday.

WATERVILLE, Maine --- Jim Wescott, the former coach for Colby College men's cross country and track and field for 25 years, will be inducted into the Maine Running Hall of Fame this Sunday at Killarney's Restaurant at the Waterville Holiday Inn.

DEDHAM, Mass. --- Colby's College's Trent Wiseman finished in fourth place in the pole vault in his first Open New England Men's Outdoor Track and Field  Championships on Saturday in a meet hosted by Northeastern University.

DEDHAM, Mass. --- Mike Bienkowski took 21st place in the 5,000-meter run for Colby College at the Open New England Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Bienkowski finished with a time of 15:33.72. The rest of the meet will continue Saturday.
