Men's Squash—2009-10 Season Overview
2010-11 Season Outlook
Harry Smith returns for his junior year after winning 36 matches in his first two seasons at the first position for the Colby College men's squash team.
Smith took over at the first spot just two matches into his first year at Colby. After going 14-8 in that first season, Smith led the team with a 22-8 record a year ago. He also was selected as Colby's pick for the NESCAC All-Sportsmanship Team the past two seasons and earned all-conference second team honors both years. Smith also was an All-NESCAC golfer during the fall season.
The Mules ended the year ranked 23rd nationally and will start with the same ranking in the 2010-11 season. Colby returns a veteran team mixed with 10 first-year players under head coach Sakhi Khan.
Will Sullivan had a solid 15-11 record in his first season at the number two position, while captain Alex Fulton was 15-9 at the third spot. Nat Cooper played at four and Daniel Lesser was at five as both players had 14-12 records. Pete Gabranski had seven wins at the sixth position and Will Greenberg won four matches at seven. Peter Jones and Stephen Nodder also return for the Mules.
2009 Season Outlook
Men's squash returns eight of the nine position players from last year's team that finished 25th in the country and won the Conroy Division at the national team championships.
Jake Leiby '09 returns at the first position, while Justin Russell '09 played the second spot a year ago. Alex Fulton '11 was solid in his first year with the Mules at the third spot and captain Harry Goldstein '09 was in the fourth spot at the end of the season. Alex Place '11, Steve Holt '09, Dan Lesser '11, and Ken Cramer '10 also return.
