2010-11 Season Outlook

Men's tennis had the youngest team in the NESCAC last year with no seniors and will be young again in the 2010-11 academic year with just two seniors under fourth-year head coach Doanh Wang. Colby finished last year ranked 16th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III Northeast rankings.

The Mules, who finished 6-7 overall and 3-5 in the league last year, had all sophomores and first-year players in the top six singles spots a year ago. Tom Kimball '12 played at the first spot. Than Moore '12 played at three, Phillip Zunshine '12 was at four, Matthew Mantikas '13 was the fifth singles player, and Joe Albano '12 was at six.

Trip Smith '12, who saw time at doubles, also returns for the Mules.


2009 Season Outlook

The men's team will head into the spring season ranked eighth in the northeast region poll after finishing in the same place at the end of the 2008 season under head coach Donah Wang.

The Mules will be led by senior captain Bryan Brown, who finished the fall season ranked 15th in the region after ending last spring ranked 17th. He also will join forces with Alex Chin '09 to form a formidable doubles team. Brown and Chin are ranked 11th in the region in doubles and were winners of the Middlebury Invitational during the fall season.

Nick Rosen-Wachs '09, Michael Johnsen '11, and Matt Von Vogt '11 also return at singles along with Chin. The Mules got solid play during the fall from first-year players Robbie Yee, Phillip Zunshine, and Tommy Kimball.

The Mules will begin the season during the annual trip to Hilton Head, S.C.
