WATERVILLE, Maine --- The Colby College men's lacrosse team is ranked in the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Division III poll for the first time this season after two big New England Small College Athletic Conference wins this past weekend.

The Mule are ranked sixth in the poll with 31 points after defeating Wesleyan University (11-5) and Trinity College (9-7). Despite the big setback, Wesleyan is still ranked fourth in the NEILA poll and Trinity dropped one spot behind Colby in seventh.

The Mules are 5-3 overall and 3-3 in NESCAC play heading into Wednesday's 4 p.m. non-conference game at University of Southern Maine. Wednesday's contest marks the first of three straight road games for Colby. The Mules play Saturday at Williams College at 1 p.m. and then visit rival Bowdoin College on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The Polar Bears are ranked fifth in the New England poll.
