Men's soccer falls to Trinity in NESCAC contest

HARTFORD, Conn. --- The Colby College men's soccer team had been 2-0 on the road this year and knocked off then 18th-ranked Middlebury College two weeks ago, but the Mules allowed one goal in each half Saturday as Trinity College captured a 2-0 win in New England Small College Athletic Conference play.
 
The Mules fall to 4-3 overall and 1-3 in conference play, while Trinity moves to 5-1-2 overall. Colby will play at Wesleyan University on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
 
Dan Mayernick scored off a rebound at 24:30 of the first half and Anthony El-Hachem knocked in a free kick from about 20 yards out with 13:54 to play in the game.
 
Peter Quayle stopped three shots for the Mules, while Grant Schonberg earned the shutout with two stops.
 
Keith Chernin, Andrew Meisel, and Jon Stronach each had two shots for Colby.
