WATERVILLE, Maine --- The Elm City Bowl will stay with the Colby College men's soccer team after scoring two goals in each half on the way to a 4-0 non-conference victory over Thomas College in a battle between the two Waterville rivals Wednesday night at Thomas.

The Mules, who have allowed just six goals in eight games and just four goals in regulation time, improve to 3-3-2 overall heading into Saturday's home game with Bowdoin College at 1:30 p.m. Colby has won 19 of the past 20 games with Thomas.

Jonathan Sommer scored a pair of goals, while Andrew Meisel finished with one goal and one assist for the winners.

Nick Aubin had the game-winning goal at 20:47 off a pass from Nate Tolman. Aubin took a hard blast from the right side that found the left side netting.

The Mules then tallied with just 15 seconds left in the first half when Sommer scored off the first collegiate assist from Eric Nesto. The Mules were awarded a free kick just past midfield and Nesto hit it well to Sommer, who smacked in a header.

Meisel made it 3-0 when his direct kick got past the wall and into the right side of the goal at 52:35.

On another set piece, Sommer came up again from his defensive spot and got his second goal off a Meisel assist at 71:30.

Cody Funkhouser played 71:30 in net for the Mules and made one stop and teammate Peter Quayle stopped one shot over the final 18:30.
