INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Colby College's Mason Roberts (San Rafael, Calif.) had a warm-up for the breaststroke races by taking 48th place in the 50-yard freestyle event at the NCAA Division III Men's Swimming and Diving Championships at the IU Natatorium on Wednesday.

Roberts finished with a time of 22.52 seconds. He used the race to get ready for Friday's 100 breaststroke and Saturday's 200 breaststroke. Roberts is seeded 12th out of 32 swimmers with a time of 56.73 in the 100 and is ranked 14th out of 28 competitors in the 200 with a time of 2:04.08.

Roberts earned All-New England Small College Athletic Conference honors in the 50 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke for finishing in the top three at the league meet. He was second in the 200 and third in the 50 (26.07). He also placed sixth in the 100 breaststroke, though his time of 56.73 in the preliminary race would have put him second in the championship final. Roberts earned school records in all three of the events.
