Men's tennis earns two wins in Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. --- Tom Kimball (Washington, Conn.) won a tight match at first singles and teamed with Jack Bryant (Wayzata, Minn.) for a win at first doubles as the Colby College men's tennis team took a 6-3 win over previously unbeaten Birmingham Southern on Tuesday night in Florida.
Earlier in the day, the Mules coasted to an easy 9-0 victory over North Central College. Colby is 3-1 on the Florida trip and 7-1 on the spring break trip over the past two years.
Bryant, Sam Bachelder (Wenham, Mass.), and Matthew Mantikas (Glastonbury, Conn.) also had singles wins against Birmingham Southern, which was 8-0 overall. Robert Yee (Quincy, Mass.) and Bachelder won the third doubles match.
In the victory over North Central, Bachelder did not lose a game at first singles and joined forces with Yee for a victory at third doubles for the Mules.
Mantikas, Martin, Than Moore (Bedford, N.H.), Yee, and Joe Albano (Marston Mills, Mass.) all won singles matches for the Mules
Bryant and Kimball sat out of singles play, but did combine for an 8-1 win at first doubles. Jason Ottomano and Martin also won their match at second doubles.
