TROY, N.Y. --- Dom Kone finished in second place in the 200-meter dash and had a disqualification in the 100 dash at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday at Rensselaer.
Kone had a time of 21.82 in the 200 dash to finish behind winner Sean Bernstein (21.36) of Oneonta State and runner-up Ali Ejaz (21.61) of Rowan. Kone equaled his own school record of 10.56 and had the best time of the day in the 100 dash prelim races. However, he had a false start in the championship final and was disqualified. He will run the 100 dash in the NCAA Division III meet next Thursday to Saturday in Claremont, Calif.
John Gilboy took 13th place in the shot put (48-3.5) and 21st in the hammer throw (146-5.5) for the Mules.
The 1,600 relay team of Dylan Nisky, Caleb Harris, Luke Doherty Munro, and Will Supple took 20th place with a 3:24.96 time.
Kevin Clarke was 27th in the 800 meters in 1:59.93 and teammate Matt White was 28th with a 2:02.55.
Kone's finish in the 200 gave Colby six points and helped the Mules place 44th out of 63 scoring teams.
