CAMBRIDGE, Mass. --- Colby College's Dom Kone (Bucksport, Maine) made it three championship meet wins in a row in taking the 100-meter dash at the New England Division III Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday at MIT.

After placing third last year in the 100, Kone had a time of 10.71 in earning the title. He will defend his championship next year at home when the Mules host the New England meet at Harold Alfond Stadium. Kone just missed making it two wins on the day after settling for a tight second place with a time of 21.73 in the 200 dash. MIT sophomore Tyler Singer-Clark used his home track advantage in winning with a 21.67.
Kone, the 200 dash indoor champion at the New England Division III meet during the winter, won the State of Maine 100 dash two weeks ago at home and then captured the NESCAC title last weekend at Bates. He picked up 18 points on the day to help the Mules finish 14th in the overall results with 20 points out of 27 scoring teams.
Kone also helped the Mules score the other two points along with Brett Sahlberg (Duxbury, Mass.), Caleb Harris (Canaan, N.H.), and Andrew Martinez (Menlo Park, Calif.) by placing seventh in the 400 relay (43.76).
Justin Owumi (Jamaica Plain, Mass.) took 10th in the triple jump (43-5) and John Gilboy was 10th in the hammer throw (156-03). Matt White (Wellesley, Mass.) added an 11th in the 800 meters in 1:53.91 to rank fourth all-time (up from eight) on Colby's all-time 800 list. Kevin Clarke (Carlisle, Mass) took 17th and is now ranked fifth on the Colby 800 rankings at 1:54.56.
Luke Doherty Munro (Hudson, Mass.), Harris, White, and Will Supple combined to take 11th out of 18 teams in the 1,600 relay in 3:23.64. Doherty Munro took 16th in the 1,500 meters in 4:00.17 to move into 10th on the event's all-time list at Colby.
