Men's track and field program earns academic honor

WATERVILLE, Maine --- The Colby College men's program was one of 74 schools in NCAA Division III to earn the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) Team All-Academic honor.
The Mules also were tied for third among New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) schools with a 3.40 team grade point average. Middlebury College led the way with a 3.51 grade point average and was third nationally. Amherst College (3.46), Colby, Connecticut College (3.40), Williams College (3.29), Tufts University (3.23), and Hamiton College (3.18) also were honored. Bates College, Bowdoin College, Trinity College, and Wesleyan University failed to make the list.
The NESCAC was second among conferences with seven teams earning honors. The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) led the way with with eight teams. Programs need at least a 3.10 grade point average to earn honors.
