WATERVILLE, Maine --- Mary Clare Snediker (New Canaan, Conn.) scored two goals in the first eight minutes of the game as the Colby College field hockey team took a 7-0 non-conference victory over University of Southern Maine on Wednesday night at Bill Alfond Field.
The Mules (3-6) have scored 13 goals in their last three games, including four against then fifth-ranked Williams College on Sunday.
Snediker scored just 3:01 into the game and then added another goal with 27:43 left to halftime. Madison Gregor (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) scored two goals of her own with 11:16 and 8:11 remaining to halftime for a 4-0 lead at the break.
Jenn Reilly (York Harbor, Maine) scored about five minutes into the second half for a 5-0 lead and then Kyla Wagman (Potomac, Md.) became the third player with two goals after tallying with 16:37 and 11:00 remaining in the game.
Jamie Enos (South Hamilton, Mass.) and Molly Rice (South Portland, Maine) each played one half for the shared shutout. Southern Maine goaltender Allie Hill (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) made 15 stops.
