Women's squash loses tight matches at nationals

PRINCETON, N.J. --- The Colby College women's squash team had to settle for finishing 24th in the country after dropping three matches, two of them tough 5-4 losses, in the Walker Cup at the National Team Championships at Princeton.

Molly Parsons was 3-0 at the second spot for Colby, which headed into the tourney ranked 21st nationally. Bowdoin, ranked 20th, took an 8-1 win over the Mules to start the tourney as Parsons won the only match.

In the next match, the Mules fell 5-4 to 24th-ranked Tufts. Colby received wins from Parsons, Lindsey McKenna at three, Lily Greenberg at seven, and Penny Kagan at the eighth spot. The Mules lost two hard-fought 3-2 matches.

In the 23-24 match, Colby fell 5-4 to William Smith as Kate Pistel won at the top spot. Parsons, McKenna, and captain Ali Crevi also posted victories.
