Lebrun-Fortin leads alpine skiers

BETHEL, Maine --- Vincent Lebrun-Fortin placed 10th in the giant slalom for the Colby College men's alpine ski team and Emily Colin was 17th for the women at the Bates Winter Carnival on Sunday at Sunday River.

Lebrun-Fortin had runs of 1:00.48 and 1:01.82 for a two-run time of 2:02.30. Josh Kernan had the fastest first run among Mule skiers with a 1:00.17 and had a 1:03.00 for a 2:03.17 to place 17th overall. Sam Witherspoon was 27th with a 2:06.73, while Jody Centauro had a solid 1:00.35 on his first run and then did not finish his second run.

Colin (1:03.44, 1:06.14) had a two-run total time of 2:09.58 and Dana Breakstone (1:02.44, 1:07.16) finished just behind her in 18th with a 2:09.60. Laura Littman was 30th in 2:15.05 and Alissa Consenstein took 33rd in 2:17.90.
