Roberts, McKenna lead alpine teams in slalom

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. --- Cassady Roberts was 17th for the Colby College women's alpine team and Matthew McKenna finished 19th for the men's squad in slalom racing at Whiteface Mountain on Saturday at the St. Lawrence Ski Carnival.

Roberts finished her two runs in 1:44.32 and Natalie Biedermann placed 23rd with a 1:45.45. Meanwhile, McKenna had a 1:34.47 and teammate Jim Ryan was 23rd in 1:36.04. Brian Morgan of Colby had the Mules' top first run time for the second straight day with a 45.32 only to have some problems on the second run.
