Lebrun-Fortin wins race for Colby alpine men

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. --- Colby College first-year skier Vincent Lebrun-Fortin earned his first Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Assocation (EISA) victory after winning the slalom at the Williams College Ski Carnival on Saturday at Jiminy Peak.

Lebrun-Fortin had runs of 44.04 and 46.74 for a two-run total time of 1:30.78. Colby teammate Josh Kernan took fifth place with clockings of 46.12 and 47.63 for a 1:33.75 total.

The Colby men placed in a tie for third out of 10 teams with 71 points, just four points behind second place Williams College and seven in back of winner Middlebury College.

Jody Centauro had the third-best opening run with a 44.92, but was disqualified on his second run for the Colby men. Sam Witherspoon placed 26th for Colby and Corey Linton was 27th.

For the Colby women, Emily Colin was 11th with a two-run total time of 1:40.98 as the Mules placed seventh. Julia Coffin Peck (1:44.79) was 20th, Brett Wagenheim took 21st (1:45.01), and Alissa Consenstein took 23rd in 1:46.05.
