Lebrun-Fortin second for Colby men

STOWE, Vt. --- Vincent Lebrun-Fortin just missed winning his first ski carnival race after finishing in second place for the Colby College men's alpine ski team in the slalom at the University of Vermont ski carnival on Saturday at Stowe.

Lebrun-Fortin had runs of 44.55 and 45.48 for a two-run total time of 1:29.90. The first run was the best of the day and the only one under 45 seconds. Charles Christianson of Williams College had a 44.14 on his second run to edge out Lebrun-Fortin with an overall clocking of 1:29.70.

The Colby men finished sixth overall, but had a tough day with just two skiers finishing the races.

Brett Wagenheim was 19th for the Colby women in 1:48.30 as the Mules also placed sixth. Alissa Consenstein took 21st place in 1:49.50 and Julia Coffin Peck was 22nd in 1:51.10.
