MIDDLEBURY, Vt. --- Vincent Lebrun-Fortin finished in fourth place in the slalom and the Colby College men’s alpine team had three finishers in the top 14 to take third place on the day at the Middlebury College Ski Carnival at Middlebury Snow Bowl on Friday.

Lebrun-Fortin had runs of 46.18 and 47.30 for a two-run total time of 1:33.48. Josh Kernan was eighth for the Mules in 1:34.24 and Sam Witherspoon took 14th in 1:35.17.

The men’s team finished with 101 points and was just one point behind second place University of Vermont (102). University of New Hampshire won the event with 123 points.

The Colby women placed eighth as Emily Colin was 15th for the Mules in 1:40.65 over two runs.

The skiers will run the giant slalom at Middlebury on Saturday and then next weekend the Mules will host the Eastern Championships at Sugarloaf.
