Ryan, Massie, Biedermann lead alpine teams

STOWE, Vt. --- Jim Ryan placed 13th for the Colby College men's alpine team, Marc Massie had the second-fastest time of the day for any skier on the second run, and Natalie Biedermann was 14th for the women as the Mules competed in the giant slalom at the Vermont Ski Carnival at Stowe on Friday.

Ryan finished with runs of 1:03.31 and 1:00.46 for a two-run total time of 2:03.77 to help the Mules finish in fourth place out of 10 teams with 82 points. Massie was a spot behind in 14th place with a blazing run of 59.96 in the second trip down the hill. Brian Morgan was 19th for the Mules in 2:04.63 and William Randall finished 27th in 2:06.62.

Biedermann had a 1:06.25 and a 1:03.01 for a final two-run total of 2:09.26. Cassady Roberts took 25th place for the Colby women in 2:11.33 as the Mules took sixth place.
