Both alpine teams finish strong fourth in slalom

STOWE, Vt. --- The Colby College women's and men's alpine ski teams each placed fourth behind the slalom skiing of Cassady Roberts, Natalie Biedermann, and Marc Massie at the University of Vermont Ski Carnival on Saturday at Stowe.

Roberts and Biedermann gave the Colby women two top-10 finishes on the way to 86 points to tie with Vermont. Roberts had a two-run total time of 1:52.32 and Biedermann continued to have a strong start to the season by placing 10th with a 1:53.71. Brittney Ziebell placed 19th in 2:01.11, Katie Houser was 22nd with a 2:02.32, and Michelle Seares gave Colby five skiers in the top 26 by placing 26th in 2:04.15.

The Colby men had 77 points, two ahead of Dartmouth and six in front of Bates. Massie finished 12th with a 1:43.27 over his two runs, while Matthew McKenna took 18th in 1:46.13. Jim Ryan was 21st for the Mules with a 1:48.42.
