Ryan 16th in slalom at NCAA meet

STOWE, Vt. --- Colby College first-year skier Jim Ryan finished in 16^th place in the slalom at the NCAA Skiing Championships on Saturday at Stowe.

Ryan had times of 54.19 and 52.79 for a two-run total of 1:46.98. The second run clocking was better than the third place finisher in the event.

While Ryan had a solid finish in his first NCAA slalom, Colby's Brian Morgan and Marc Massie had tough luck. Morgan had a 51.92 opening run, but was disqualified. Massie had a 51.63 on his first run and a 52.36 only to be disqualified as well.

The Colby ski program (alpine and Nordic) combined to finish in 15^th place with 121 points.
