MIDDLEBURY, Vt. --- Colby College first-year men's alpine skier Vincent Lebrun-Fortin placed second in the slalom at the Eastern Championships at Middlebury College on Friday.
Lebrun-Fortin had runs of 43.52 and 47.08 for a two-run total time of 1:30.39. The only skier to beat that clocking was Williams College senior Charles Christianson with a 1:30.39 on runs of 43.38 and 46.91. Lebrun-Fortin helped the Colby men place sixth out of 12 teams despite some bad luck. Josh Kernan finished with a 44.66 in his first run, but had problems on his second trip and finished 38th overall. Sam Witherspoon placed 19th for Colby in 1:33.38. The Colby women took seventh place as Emily Colin had a 1:43.35 over her two runs for 18th place. Laura Littman took 25th in 1:44.45. Women's slalom team scores 1. Vermont 126; 2.
