Baseball team at four wins in a row
CHANDLER, Ariz. --- Tim Brettingen recorded 14 ground ball outs and walked none to help the Colby College baseball team win for the fourth straight time with a 13-5 victory over Lawrence University on Wednesday in Arizona.
Brettingen was relieved in the eighth inning by first-year pitcher Ryan Murphy, who recorded the save after entering what was still a tight game at the time. Colby (4-1) scored three runs in the seventh inning and added five more in the eighth to pull away. Kyle McKay caught the pitchers and led the Mules with three hits. John Lerner had a triple among his two hits, while Ryan Conlon and Colin Riggs also had two hits. Craig Cooper drove in a pair of runs for Colby.
