Baseball team loses local battle in Phoenix

PHOENIX, Ariz. --- Local rivals Colby College and Thomas College went all the way across the country to play baseball and the Terriers came away with an 11-3 victory in the Greater Phoenix Invitational on Tuesday.

Thomas (2-4) led 6-2 after three innings and then scored four more runs over the next three frames.

Tom Salemy had three hits, including a double, and two RBI for Colby. Ryan Conlon and John LaMantia both had two hits for the Mules.

Colby (1-5) will play Wisconsin-Whitewater in a single game at 4:30 p.m. (EST) Wednesday.
