PHOENIX, Ariz. --- Despite some key RBI triples by Ryan Conlon and Corey Martin, the Colby College baseball team lost a tough 9-8 game to Wisconsin-Whitewater in 10 innings on Wednesday.
The Mules (1-6) had two opportunities to win the game only to see Wisconsin-Whitewater battle back. Conlon's RBI triple in the top of the ninth inning gave Colby a 6-5 lead, but the Warhawks got a lone run in the bottom of the inning to send the game to extra innings. Martin had an RBI triple and Nick Spillane had an RBI double as the Mules scored twice in the top of the 10th inning. However, the Warhawks scored three runs in the bottom of the inning to win the game.
Spillane, Conlon, Martin and Tom Salemy all had two hits for Colby.
