WATERVILLE, Maine --- Matt Moore (Winfield, Ill.) pitched a complete game two-hit shutout and Nikolas Atsalis (West Hyannis Port, Mass.) went 3-for-3 with three RBI as the Colby College baseball team cruised to a 13-0 win over University of Maine at Presque Isle in the Mules' home opener Friday at Coombs Field.
Colby improves to 5-5 overall and will play two more games against Maine-Presque Isle on Saturday starting at 11 a.m. The Owls fall to 2-13 overall.
Moore struck out 10 batters over nine innings, including six in the final three innings. He had a no-hitter into the fifth inning before allowing a two-out single. Moore pitched to just three batters over the minimum.

After the Mules scored one time in the first on an UMPI error, Colby added another solo run in the second inning. LaMantia led off with a single, moved to second when Brendan Gallagher (Dublin, N.H.) was hit by a pitch, and then scored on a single by Atsalis.
The Mules broke it open with four runs in the third inning. Conlon had a one-out home run, Atsalis had a two-run double, and Kenneth Kaufman (Lexington, Mass.) added an RBI double.
After back-to-back errors put runners on base, Mastrocola unleashed a two-run double for two more runs in the fourth inning. After Colby added a lone run in the fifth inning, the Mules finished their scoring with four runs in the seventh. Chris Murdock (Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.) led off with a triple and scored on an RBI single by Will Greenberg (Rye Brook, N.Y.).
