HARTFORD, Conn. --- Richard Newton had a home run to lead off the game and Mike Mastrocola finished with three hits for Colby College, but Trinity College had a big second inning on the way to a 19-8 victory over the Mules in NESCAC East play Saturday. The Mules fall to 6-8 overall and 0-1 in the conference, while Trinity is 10-5 overall and 1-0 in the league. The teams will play a doubleheader Sunday at noon at Trinity. The Bantams scored seven times in the second inning and added three more runs in the third to take control. Mastrocola had a double among his three hits, scored a run, and drove in one run. Newton, Devin McConnell, and Colin Cummings all had two hits for Colby. John Lerner added one hit and a pair of RBI.
