Colby baseball drops two games to Trinity

HARTFORD, Conn. – Colin Cummings hit his first collegiate home run for Colby College in the second game, but Trinity College took 13-2 and 15-6 victories over the Mules in New England Small College Athletic Conference East play Sunday.

Colby falls to 6-10 overall and 0-3 in the NESCAC East, while Trinity is 12-5 and 3-0 in conference play.

Richard Newton had three hits and scored a run in the second game for the Mules. Mike Mastrocola, Alec Finigan, and Brendan Gallagher all had two hits for the Mules. Nikolas Atsalis, John Schroeder, and Brandon Nieuw all finished with one hit and one RBI.

In the first game, Cummings had a two-run homer and also had one walk. Mastrocola finished with two hits and Atsalis had the other hit for Colby.

Stephen Rogers went 5-for-9 with three runs and seven RBI in the two games for Trinity.
