WATERVILLE, Maine --- Colby College forward Amanda Comeau (The Gunnery/Southbury, Conn.) was selected as the New England Small College Athletic Conference Women’s Hockey Co-Player of the Week on Monday after scoring five goals in three games last week.
Comeau had four goals as the Mules posted a thrilling 6-5 overtime win over rival Bowdoin College last Wednesday. She had the game-tying goal with 3:16 remaining after Bowdoin had scored three straight goals in the third period to go up 5-4. Comeau then netted the game-winning goal in overtime.
Comeau also had one goal and one assist in Colby’s 3-1 win at University of Southern Maine on Sunday.
In the latest NESCAC statistics, Comeau is fourth in the league in goal scoring (13) and is tied for seventh in power play goals (5). She is tied for second on the Mules in scoring with 13 goals and five assists for 18 points. The sophomore has 19 goals and 18 assists for 37 career points.
Comeau shared the weekly award with Hamilton College’s Lauren Tomford.
Colby is 7-10-5 overall and 4-7-3 in league play heading into two home league games with Wesleyan University this weekend. The Mules play the Cardinals at 7 p.m. Friday and then again Saturday at 3 p.m. at Alfond Rink.
