WATERVILLE, Maine --- Colby College’s Craig Cooper (Trumbull, Conn.), who had 139 career hits with the Mules, was named to the New England Small College Athletic Conference Baseball All-Conference Team on Wednesday.

Cooper was selected to the second team and was one of three shortstops selected to the two teams.

Cooper hit a team-best .398, 87 points better than the next starter for Colby. He also led the Mules in at-bats (118), total hits (47), doubles (9), homers (4), RBI (32), total bases (72), slugging percentage (.610), and assists (82). Cooper, a captain for the Mules, also was tied for the team lead in triples with two.

Cooper was a .339 career hitter in his four years at Colby. He had 139 hits, 22 doubles, five homers, and 84 RBI. After batting .287 in his first year while starting every game, Cooper batted better than .300 his last three seasons. Cooper hit .350 as a sophomore and then .306 during his junior season when he helped the Mules to an 18-14 record.
