Crew teams open season at regatta

LOWELL, Mass. ---- The Colby College men's crew had two winners at the Textile River Regatta to open the season on Sunday.
Rob Zondervan won the men's club single race with a time of 20 minutes, 44.78 seconds and the Colby men took the club 8 race in 16:03.868 in a field of 21 boats. Jon Ferris placed third for the Colby men in the men's open single race with a 20:01.22 clocking, while the Colby men were fifth in the open 8 race in 15:24.96. The Colby women got a fourth in the open 8 race in 16:51.04. Meanwhile, the Mules were ninth in the club 8 race with a time of 18:00.86. Colby has this weekend off before racing in the New Hampshire Championships on Saturday, October 14.
