Crews each fall to Coast Guard

LOWELL, Mass. --- The fourth-ranked Coast Guard Academy women's crew defeated fifth-ranked Colby College in a battle of two top five squads, while the Coast Guard men also beat the Mules in collegiate rowing Saturday.
In the women's varsity eight race, Coast Guard had a time of 6:31.5 to Colby's 6:36.9. Meanwhile, the Colby men's varsity eight lost by less than two seconds with a time of 5:55.8 to Coast Guard's winning clocking of 5:53.99. In the second women's varsity eight race, Coast Guard finished with a time of 6:52.8 to the Mules' 7:01.2. Colby heads to Worcester next Saturday for racing against Holy Cross, Ithaca, Tufts and Connecticut College.
