WATERVILLE, Maine --- Colby College men's basketball player Nick Farrell (Aspen/Aspen, Colo.) was named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday for the second time this season.
Farrell, a co-captain, averaged 25 points and shot 57 percent (12-for-21) from 3-point range in two NESCAC wins over Wesleyan University and Connecticut College.
Farrell had 17 of his 26 points after halftime on 9-for-15 shooting from the field (5-for-9 3-point range) and added five rebounds and five steals in the 75-55 win against Wesleyan. He closed out the week with 18 of his 24 points after halftime in a 60-57 win against Connecticut College and was 7-for-12 from 3-point range. Farrell also went a perfect 6-for-6 from the foul line in the two games.
In the latest NESCAC statistics released Monday, Farrell ranks first in the league in scoring (19.0), third in steals per game (2.22) and sixth in assists per game (4.44). He is first on the Mules in scoring, assists (80 total), steals (40) and made 3-point field goals (69).
Farrell is averaging 25.6 points and six made 3-point field goals a game over the past five contests.
Colby (10-8) plays host to unbeaten Amherst College this Friday at 7 p.m. Amherst is 17-0 and is ranked second in the D3hoops.com national poll.
