MIDDLEBURY, Vt. --- Despite statistics that were close to even, the 15th-ranked Middlebury College field hockey team made their shots count in a 7-0 victory over Colby College in New England Small College Athletic Conference play Saturday. The Panthers (4-2 overall) had a shot advantage of 17-15 and a penalty corner margin of just 10-9. Middlebury scored three goals in the opening 11:38 of play, including one on a penalty stroke, to take command early. Colby (4-3 overall, 1-3 NESCAC) will play at Bowdoin College at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
