STANDISH, Maine --- Amy Campbell scored a pair of goals for the Colby College field hockey team only to see St. Joseph’s College tie the game in the final five minutes of regulation and then go on and score in the second overtime in a 3-2 non-conference victory on Thursday.
Colby falls to 4-6 heading into Saturday’s 11 a.m. home game with Connecticut College. St. Joseph’s improves to 9-3.
Julia Ostrowski put St. Joseph’s up 1-0 just 3:23 into the game and that goal stood up until halftime.
Campbell then went to work just 5:17 into the second half with an assist from Meryl Poulin. With just 11:07 left in regulation, Campbell struck again with an unassisted tally and the Mules had their first lead.
Alyssa Dunn scored her first goal of the season with only 4:54 left in regulation to send the game to overtime. Kayla Nowell scored at 85:39 of the contest to give St. Joseph’s the victory.
Meaghan Johnson stopped 10 shots and the Monks added two defensive saves. Liz Fontaine made seven saves for Colby.
