WATERVILLE, Maine – New England College scored three goals in the opening 7:11 of the second half to pull away for a 4-2 victory over Colby College in non-conference field hockey Tuesday night at Bill Alfond Field.
Amanda Lester (Columbia, Conn.) scored with 1:29 left in the opening half for a 1-0 NEC lead at intermission.
Brittney Vogrin (Toronto, Ontario) made it 2-0 at 3:52 of the second half and Lori Zaniboni (Wenham, Mass.) got the eventual game-winning goal 1:54 later. Lester finished up the scoring for the Pilgrims (14-2) with 27:49 remaining.
Mary Clare Snediker (New Canaan, Conn.) scored off a penalty corner for Colby with 14:55 remaining and added a penalty stroke with 9:04 left.
Jacqui Parker (Keene, N.H.) stopped 13 shots and Analiese Agliato (Hauppauge, N.Y.) had three defensive saves for NEC. Jamie Enos (South Hamilton, Mass.) made 14 saves for Colby.
