WATERVILLE, Maine --- Meera Sivalingam (Philadelphia, Pa.) scored with 17:58 left in the game and Williams College was able to hang on for a 2-1 win against Colby College in New England Small College Athletic Conference field hockey Sunday at Bill Alfond Field.
Anne de Saint Phalle (Bronxville, N.Y.) had the assist on the goal and tallied at 19:40 of the first half to give Williams (6-5, 3-3 NESCAC) a 1-0 lead.
Mary Clare Snediker (New Canaan, Conn.), Colby’s three-time All-NESCAC selection, got her first goal of the season off an assist from Meryl Poulin (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) with 12:45 to intermission. Snediker had a knee injury during lacrosse season last spring and finally played her first two games of the season this weekend.
Katrina Tulla (New Canaan, Conn.) stopped five shots in the cage for Williams, while Liz Fontaine (Wilbraham, Mass.) also had five saves for the Mules (5-7, 2-5).
