Field hockey falls in overtime to Bates

LEWISTON, Maine -- Despite a goal and an assist from Madison Gregor, the Colby College field hockey team ended the season with a 3-2 overtime loss to Bates College on Saturday.

Samantha Rothkopf scored just 1:04 into overtime to give Bates (6-8, 2-7 NESCAC) the win. Colby ended the season at 4-10 and 1-8 in the league, but the Mules lost four conference overtime games and dropped six of their eight league losses by just one goal.

The Bobcats went up six minutes into the game off a goal by Erin Chandler. The Mules, though, tied the game at halftime when Ashley Wagner tallied off an assist from Gregor.

Gregor scored 4:17 into the second half to give Colby its first lead of the contest. Chandler got her second goal of the game at 54:41 to tie the game a second time.
