WATERVILLE, Maine --- Meryl Poulin (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) reached 50 career points with three goals in leading the Colby College field hockey team to a 6-0 victory over Thomas College on a wet night at Bill Alfond Field on Tuesday.

Poulin has 17 goals and 16 assists for 50 career points, including five goals and three assists this season. She scored two goals off penalty corners and had the first goal of the contest at 13:05 of the opening half by stick-handling up the middle and ripping a shot from about 10 yards out.

Poulin, a two-time All-New England Small College Athletic Conference selection, made it 2-0 when she hammered home a shot off a penalty corner, with assists going to Sarah Falkof (Wilmette, Ill.) and Caitlyn Lancaster (Cornville, Maine).

Lancaster scored the next goal for the Mules (3-3 overall) just 40 seconds after Poulin's second goal. Lancaster and Falkof assisted again on Poulin's fifth goal of the season off a penalty corner with 6:19 to play to halftime.

After taking a 4-0 lead to the break, Colby added goals by Olivia Lattanzi (Milton, Mass.) and Lucy Gerrity (Cumberland, Maine) in the second half. Gerrity assisted on Lattanzi's goal at 51:59 and Lauren Zion (Beverly, Mass.) fed Gerrity for her goal at 59:01.

The Mules had a 37-1 shot advantage and goaltenders Casey Atwater (Baltimore, Md.) and Michelle Burt (Woodbridge, Conn.) split time and were not called on to make a save. Thomas keeper Megan Denby (Copiague, N.Y.) had eight saves in the first half and teammate Sophia Sourgiadakis (Littleton, N.H.) made six stops.
